High CVSS 7.3

CVE-2026-18639

NVD analysis in progress

When Velociraptor is configured to use an OIDC IdP for authentication, it uses the email claim as a username. However, some IdP allow users to change the email claim without verification. Some IdPs do not set the "email_verified" claim and do not actually verify the email. This allows a user to impersonate another user by setting their email address within the IdP, allowing account takeover.

What this means

Exposure
Exploitable remotely over the network and with an ordinary user account — but only if a user opens booby-trapped content.
Impact
An attacker can read sensitive data and modify or destroy data.
Weakness
Authentication relies on a spoofable value such as an IP address or header.
Likelihood
Its EPSS score stays low: nothing points to imminent exploitation, which is no reason to leave it unpatched.
