High CVSS 7.1

CVE-2026-43681

Apple Macos

A buffer overflow was addressed with improved bounds checking. This issue is fixed in macOS Sequoia 15.7.8, macOS Sonoma 14.8.8, macOS Tahoe 26.6. A local user may be able to read kernel memory.

What this means

Exposure
Exploitable with local access to the machine, with an ordinary user account and with no action from the victim.
Impact
An attacker can read sensitive data and take the service offline.
Weakness
A copy without a size check overwrites memory past the buffer (classic overflow).
Likelihood
Its EPSS score stays low: nothing points to imminent exploitation, which is no reason to leave it unpatched.
