High CVSS 7.5

CVE-2026-70377

NVD analysis in progress

imagecli's pipeline operation (Scale::apply in src/image_ops.rs) computes output width/height as (dimension as f32 * ratio) as u32 with no upper-bound validation on the CLI-supplied ratio, which is parsed via nom::number::complete::float with no range check. Any application embedding imagecli as a library and accepting user-controlled pipeline strings is remotely crashable with a single request.

What this means

Exposure
Exploitable remotely over the network, without authentication and with no action from the victim.
Impact
An attacker can take the service offline.
Weakness
An attacker-supplied size triggers an oversized allocation.
Likelihood
Its EPSS score stays low: nothing points to imminent exploitation, which is no reason to leave it unpatched.

What to doFold into the next patch cycle. Start with the instances exposed to the internet.
