Amazon ECS now repairs failing GPUs and instances on its own

On 9 October 2026, AWS detailed Amazon ECS’s automatic repair mechanisms: GPU failure detection via NVIDIA DCGM, agent-connectivity repair and Availability Zone rebalancing. If you run GPU workloads on ECS, you can stop building your own detection loops: these repairs are on by default at no extra cost.
