KeePassXC 2.8 finally ships native Wayland Auto-Type and moves to Qt 6

On October 21, 2026, KeePassXC released version 2.8.0, moving the password manager to Qt 6, adding native Wayland Auto-Type through XDG Desktop Portals, and fixing five security flaws. Upgrade promptly if you rely on Auto-Type on a modern Linux desktop or if you import KDB files whose provenance you do not control.
