High CVSS 7.8

CVE-2026-64217

NVD analysis in progress

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: netfs: Fix overrun check in netfs_extract_user_iter() Fix netfs_extract_user_iter() so that if iov_iter_extract_pages() overfills pages[], then those pages don't get included in the iterator constructed at the end of the function. If there was an overfill, memory corruption has already happened.

What this means

Exposure
Exploitable with local access to the machine, with an ordinary user account and with no action from the victim.
Impact
An attacker can read sensitive data, modify or destroy data and take the service offline.
Likelihood
Its EPSS score stays low: nothing points to imminent exploitation, which is no reason to leave it unpatched.
